CLAYTON COUNTY – A former daycare director, Olubusola Eunice Drumgoole of Jonesboro, has been indicted by a Clayton County grand jury for falsely representing herself as another individual during an official visit conducted by the Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL).

 

In 2017, Drumgoole’s license to operate a daycare center in Georgia was revoked due to prior rule violations and false documentation submitted to DECAL during the licensure process. The same daycare center (previously operated by Drumgoole) was later granted a license to operate with a new owner and with the understanding that Drumgoole was not authorized to be present or participate in the operation of the facility.

 

On November 20, 2018, a DECAL childcare consultant conducted a visit to the daycare center to investigate a complaint and monitor the facility. During that visit, Drumgoole was present and identified herself as another individual to the DECAL representative. As part of the visit, Drumgoole also completed an investigation statement form using the false name. The DECAL childcare consultant, suspecting something was wrong, took a photograph of Drumgoole during the visit and later learned of her true identity when the picture was shown to others.

 

On July 13, 2021, Olubusola Eunice Drumgoole was indicted for one count of False Statements and Writings. Members of the public are reminded that the indictment only contains charges. The defendant is presumed innocent of the charge, and it will be the state’s burden to prove the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.

 

The case was initially referred to the Office of the State Inspector General (OIG) by DECAL. OIG Investigator Richard Schneider led the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by the Office of the Attorney General of Georgia.
