Depending on the details of your matter, other investigative agencies may be a more appropriate resource for your complaint or inquiry.  See below for links and descriptions of other agencies and resources; the list of investigative state and federal agencies is not exhaustive.

  • Georgia Department of Human Services - Office of Inspector General

    Provides oversight throughout Georgia's Department of Human Services (GA DHS) to ensure that work is carried on according to agency policy, procedure, and practice. DHS OIG Investigative Units including Internal Affairs, Background Investigations and Fingerprinting, Benefits Claims Investigations, Benefits Claims Recovery and Internal Audits. Contact for complaints related to "food stamps", Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), child care facilities, and other GA DHS matters.


  • Georgia Department of Community Health - Office of Inspector General

    Safeguards the integrity of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) from risk internally and externally. Contact for complaints related to Medicaid recipients, healthcare facilities, and other GA DCH matters.


  • Georgia Department of Public Health - Office of Inspector General

    Manages complaints of alleged violations of Department of Public Health (DPH) policies, procedures, and laws by the Department, its employees, or its vendors/contractors. Contact for complaints related to GA DPH and its programs, such as Women, Infants and Children (WIC), HIV, Immunization, Emergency Preparedness, Epidemiology, Public Health Lab, Environmental Protection and Emergence Medical Services.


  • Georgia Department of Agriculture - Office of Inspector General

    Units within the Department of Agriculture are Administration, Animal Industry, Food Safety, Fuel & Measures, Plant Industry, and Marketing. Contact for complaints related to Georgia Department of Agriculture programs and operations.


  • Georgia Department of Law - Office of Attorney General's Special Prosecutions Unit

    The Georgia Department of Law generally represents the State of Georgia for various legal matters. The Attorney General's Special Prosecutions Unit prosecutes identity fraud, securities fraud, and mortgage fraud. Contact to request an investigation from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.


  • Georgia Department of Law - Medicaid Fraud Control Unit

    Contact the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) to report Medicaid provider fraud/abuse and patient abuse.


  • Georgia Department of Law - Consumer Protection Unit

    Protects consumers from unfair and deceptive acts and practices in the context of consumer transactions. Contact for complaints related to unlawful business practices and other consumer problems.


  • Georgia Department of Revenue - Office of Special Investigations

    Contact for complaints of motor vehicle title and registration fraud, internal affairs, and tax fraud related to income tax, withholding tax, sales and use tax, and property tax.


  • Georgia Secretary of State - Investigations Division

    Contact for complaints related to professional licensing, licensed facilities, and elections.


  • Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia- Ethics and Compliance Program

    Contact to report fraud, waste, and abuse involving University System of Georgia employees.



  • Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disorders - Office of Incident Management and Investigations

    Investigates critical incidents in Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) programs. Contact the Office of Incident Management and Investigations for complaints related to Community Service Boards, boards of health and various private providers, state-operated regional hospitals, and other DBHDD programs.


  • Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation - Enforcement Division

    Investigates any incident arising out of workers' compensation. Contact for complaints related to workers' compensation fraud committed by employees, employers, or providers.


  • Georgia Department of Driver Services - Investigative Services Section

    Protects the integrity of identity documents issued by the Department of Driver Services. Contact for complaints related to driver's license fraud.


  • Georgia Department of Labor - Unemployment Insurance Integrity Unit

    Contact for complaints related to unemployment benefits fraud or inappropriate use of a Social Security Number to fraudulently obtain work.


  • Georgia Bureau of Investigation - Office of Professional Standards

    Please note: Because by law the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is an assisting agency to select government officials, you must contact your local law enforcement agency or district attorney to request an investigation. Contact GBI's Office of Professional Standards allegations of GBI employee misconduct.


  • Georgia Department of Corrections - Office of Professional Standards

    Examines operations, gathers information, enforces departmental standards and laws through audits and investigations, and recommends solutions. Contact for complaints related to inmates, facility operations, and other Department of Corrections matters.

    Contact to report fraud, waste, abuse, misuse or mismanagement of U.S. Department of Education (ED) program funds concerning employees, fund recipients, educational institutions, contractors, collection agencies, or lending institutions.

    Contact to report identity theft and a various consumer complaints related to National Do Not Call Registry violations, computers and online privacy, telemarketing scams, credit scams, immigration services, sweepstakes and lotteries, business opportunities and work-at-home schemes, health and weight loss products, debt collection, and credit reports.


  • United States Postal Inspection Service

    Contact to report mail fraud schemes, vandalism and mail theft.


  • United States Postal Service - Office of Inspector General

    Contact to report violations, employee misconduct, fraud, waste, abuse of authority, or theft involving U.S. Postal Service employees and contractors.


  • United States Social Security Administration - Office of Inspector General

    Contact to report social security fraud.


  • Department of Veterans Affairs - Office of Inspector General

    Contact to report fraud against Veterans Affairs (VA) committed by beneficiaries, their survivors, fiduciaries, contractors, and VA employees; fraud related to pharmaceutical firms’ illegal defective pricing or off-label marketing activities; acts of embezzlement, extortion, and bribery committed by VA employees; theft and diversion of legal drugs by VA staff and others; sale of contraband drugs and pharmaceuticals by and to VA staff and patients; theft of VA resources and data; identity theft; stolen valor; assaults and threats against VA employees, patients, facilities, and computer systems; mortgage fraud; workers compensation fraud; and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business fraud.
